Hidden Gems for Family Days Out in the North Cotswolds: Explore Nature & the Outdoors

Looking for quieter spots to explore with the kids this summer? The North Cotswolds is home to a treasure trove of lesser-known destinations, perfect for relaxed family days out. Whether you're based in Blockley, Chipping Campden, or elsewhere in the North Cotswolds, these hidden gems offer fresh air, fun, and fewer crowds.
1. Ebrington & Foxcote Estate Walks
A peaceful walking area just outside Chipping Campden, with gentle hills, shady woodland and wildflower meadows. Great for spotting butterflies and taking a picnic.

2. Sezincote Gardens (Near Moreton-in-Marsh)
Not your usual Cotswold stately home, this 200-year-old Indian-style house is surrounded by an exotic garden and water features. Children love crossing the bridges and watching the peacocks roam.
3. Batsford Village Green & Secret Footpaths
Start from the Batsford Arboretum car park, but skip the main trail and explore the nearby public footpaths. You’ll find streams to paddle in, fields to roam, and often a few sheep to say hello to.
4. Todenham Manor Farm Shop
A quiet alternative to busier attractions, this farm shop near Moreton has a lovely café, picnic tables and the occasional animal sighting. Great for a mid-week visit with young ones.
