Sorelle Health - Quick Fire Questions With Nicola Skea

Cotswold naturopath and businesswoman Nicky Skea studied Naturopathic nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London. Naturopathic nutrition is a complementary therapy that views food as medicine, emphasising whole, organic, and chemical-free ingredients that promote our natural self-healing mechanisms.

Nicky specialised in autoimmune and digestive health, employing Ayurvedic principles alongside Western herbs and functional blood testing. This journey led her to create Sorelle Health.

Sorelle Health offers a carefully curated selection of supplements in various forms, designed as a comprehensive ‘toolkit’ to support the body during healing and promote a healthy lifestyle.

When did you first become interested in Naturopathic Nutrition and why?

‘I had two career choices as a teenager: Naturopathy was one, and Hairdressing was the second.  Hairdressing won for 25 years, and although I loved it, I always felt a calling to become a Naturopath.’

When did you start Sorelle?
‘Two years ago, I struggled to find supplements that weren’t synthetic or mixed with unnecessary herbs and fillers. I wanted a very simple range of vitamins and minerals that had a positive, noticeable effect on the body, could be felt by the patient, and monitored through a blood test.’

What or who inspires you daily?

‘My family and nature.’

Why did you start the retreats?

‘There is so much confusion and conflicting advice on social media. I wanted to interact with more than one client at a time and help people understand their individual constitution and microbiome, which affects everything. Retreats and workshops enable us to connect to ourselves, each other, and nature.’

What are your top supplements for wellness?

‘Easy! Vitamin B complex, Magnesium plus, Omega 3 and Fermented fruits.’

What's your favourite thing about what you do?

‘Foraging and blending plants and talking about health and the microbiome.’

What's your least favourite thing about what you do?

‘Trying to keep up with social media.’

How do you manage stress in your life?

‘Foraging, walking with my dogs, yin yoga, and non-toxic eating habits.’

How do you relax?

‘Cooking, reading or cuddling my dogs.’

Do you have a mantra or saying that you try to live by?

‘Nothing in life is personal. Practice gratitude every day.’

What is your favourite book?

‘So many great books! For work:
'Dispensing with Tradition' by the great herbalist Anne McIntyre and “Spark in the Machine’ by Daniel Known
For pleasure: ‘Of Men and Plants’ by Maurice Messengue’
