Take on the Cotswold Way Challenge: An Unforgettable Ultra Adventure

If you’re looking for a challenge that combines breathtaking scenery, personal achievement, and an unbeatable event atmosphere, the Cotswold Way Challenge should be firmly on your radar. Set in one of England’s most picturesque regions, this Ultra Challenge event invites walkers, joggers, and runners of all abilities to push their limits across rolling hills, charming villages, and iconic countryside trails.

What is the Cotswold Way Challenge?

The Cotswold Way Challenge is part of the UK’s leading series of endurance events, taking place on 13–14 June 2026. Starting and finishing at a lively basecamp in Cirencester, participants can choose from a range of distances, from a manageable 10K to a full-on 100 km ultra.

Whether you’re a first-time challenger or a seasoned endurance athlete, there’s a distance tailored to your ambition.

Distance Options:

  • 100 km (Full Challenge) – the ultimate test with 2,250m of climb
  • 75 km (3/4 Challenge) – a serious step up in distance
  • 50 km (Half Challenge) – tough, scenic, and rewarding
  • 25 km (Quarter Challenge) – perfect for newcomers
  • 10K Cirencester – ideal for families and beginners

A Route Through Classic English Countryside

The route loops through the heart of the Cotswolds, offering sweeping views over the Severn Estuary, historic villages, and lush green hills. Expect undulating terrain, challenging enough to test your endurance, but rewarding at every turn.

This is not just a physical challenge, it’s an immersive journey through one of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes.

Fully Supported From Start to Finish

One of the standout features of the Cotswold Way Challenge is the exceptional level of support. You’re never alone on the course, with:

  • Rest stops every 10–15 km stocked with snacks, drinks, and hot meals
  • Medical teams, massage services, and podiatry support
  • GPS tracking and fully marked routes for peace of mind
  • Finish line celebrations with medals, T-shirts, food, and a well-earned drink

This means you can focus on your performance, and enjoy the experience, without worrying about logistics.

Walk, Jog, or Run – Your Challenge, Your Pace

Unlike traditional races, the Cotswold Way Challenge is designed to be inclusive. You can:

  • Walk at your own pace
  • Jog steadily with friends
  • Or push for a competitive finish

There are even specialist categories like Ultra March for fast-paced walkers and Trailblazerz for competitive runners aiming for time targets.

More Than Just an Event

For many participants, this challenge is about more than crossing a finish line. It’s an opportunity to:

  • Fundraise for a chosen charity (with 600+ options available)
  • Build resilience and confidence
  • Experience camaraderie with thousands of like-minded adventurers

With over 40,000 people taking part in Ultra Challenge events annually, you’ll be joining a vibrant and supportive community.
