Meet Artist Jane Powell at Worcestershire Open Studios 2026

This August, art lovers across Worcestershire have a unique opportunity to step inside the studios of local artists and makers as Worcestershire Open Studios Art Week returns.

Running from Saturday 22nd to Monday 31st August, the event brings together 181 artists and makers across 194 locations, opening their doors to the public and offering a fascinating insight into the people, places and processes behind the work.

Among the participating artists is Jane Powell, who will be opening her studio to visitors throughout the event.

The exhibition is completely free to visit, making it a wonderful opportunity to discover new artists, meet the people behind the work and see where and how their creations come to life. A selection of artworks will also be available to purchase, although there is absolutely no obligation to buy.

Free Live Demonstrations with Jane Powell

As part of Worcestershire Open Studios, Jane will also be hosting two free one-hour demonstrations, offering visitors the chance to explore her approach to painting.

Free Your Art – How to Loosen Up Your Acrylic Paintings

Taking place on:

Monday 24th August | 2–3pm
Thursday 27th August | 2–3pm

These live demonstrations are tasters for the workshops Jane runs throughout the year and will explore how to move away from tight, over-controlled mark-making towards a looser, semi-abstract and impressionistic style.

Jane will demonstrate how layers, texture and intuitive colour choices can work together to create paintings with energy, movement and softness.

Whether you're an experienced artist looking to loosen up your work or simply curious about exploring a more expressive approach to painting, the demonstrations offer a chance to see the process in action and pick up ideas to take into your own creative practice.

The demonstrations are free, but places must be booked in advance. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so email info@janepowellartist.co.uk to reserve your place.
