Pit Kitchen: Where Flames, Flavours & Friends Unite

If you're craving bold, open-fire cooking served up with a generous side of countryside charm, look no further than Pit Kitchen. Nestled at Todenham Farm near Moreton‑in‑Marsh, this walk-in-only, open-air restaurant brings together the energy of East London and the soul of the Cotswolds in the most delicious way.

Pit Kitchen sprang from the vision of Adam, whose years in Dalston immersed him in East London's vibrant food scene. Wanting to mix that city soul with rural tranquility, he returned to the Cotswolds and, with his brother James and friend George, founded the venture around an open-fire ethos. George, a pro chef with fine dining and food development expertise, infused the menu with relaxed yet refined flavours, blending Middle Eastern inspirations with East London street food flair.

Operating seasonally from spring through mid-autumn, Pit Kitchen fires up every Wednesday to Sunday, offering long, lazy weekend lunches and meals by the firelight.

  • Wednesday–Friday: 5 pm–10 pm (food served until 9 pm)
  • Saturday: 12 pm–10 pm (food until 9 pm)
  • Sunday: 12 pm–8 pm (food until 7 pm)

The final day of the 2025 season is Sunday, 12 October, so plan your visit before the flames go out for the year!

Note: It will be closed on select dates for private events, such as 4 July and 1 August.

Set against rolling fields under festoon lights and sailcloth awnings, communal tables and fire pits create a warm, unpretentious atmosphere—where the crackle of flames meets good company and countryside panoramas.

Pit Kitchen is guided by a simple yet powerful mantra: they do a few things really, really well. Their menu keeps it short, local, seasonal—and bursting with taste. Starting with snacks like sticky nuts and marinated olives, you’ll soon discover plates for sharing, such as the sumptuous Dalston Mezze and veggie-friendly fritters.

Mains arrive from the grills:

  • Shawarmas like Persian Chicken or Oyster Mushroom for plant-based diners
  • Larger options including Todenham Lamb or Halloumi, served with kebab-style salads, sauces, and sides

And for dessert? Think indulgent rhubarb & custard with white chocolate crunch, alongside silky Hackney Gelato pots.

Pit Kitchen delivers more than food—it’s a sensory journey. Its fusion of East London spirit and Cotswolds’ landscapes, communal vibes, and uncompromising quality make it an essential stop for anyone seeking flavorful, fire-lit dining outside the city.

Make sure to visit before Sunday, 12 October, and experience one of the most talked-about outdoor dining spots in the region before the season draws to a close.
